Uganda Athletics Federation rebrands as Athletics Uganda

The Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) has officially changed its name to Athletics Uganda following a unanimous decision by a special extraordinary general assembly held on Saturday, May 10.

The change is part of ongoing efforts to align the federation with the requirements of Uganda's new sports law.

President of Athletics Uganda, Dominic Otucet, welcomed the development, noting that the rebranding would involve not only a new name but also a new logo.

"We are now called Athletics Uganda. Members highlighted we are a big sport. We are a big national sports association, and we are also law-abiding. We have agreed to align it with a new sports law without alienating it from the World Athletics constitution. The two will be aligned, but we still have to agree with Government of Uganda. We are harmonising them on our part and will engage them through their legal department to ensure that we align ourselves with them," stated Otucet.

Athletics Uganda is also set to unveil a fresh logo that reflects a modern identity and resonates with the current times.
