Uganda's envoy to Namibia applauds Cricket Cranes T20 World Cup qualification

Uganda's national cricket team, the Cricket Cranes, has captured the attention and admiration of both local and international audiences following their historic qualification for the T20 World Cup. 

The team's impressive performance during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Africa Region qualifiers in Namibia has garnered praise from various dignitaries, including Uganda's ambassador to Namibia, Joseph Ndawula.

Ndawula commended the players and coaches for their unwavering commitment, endurance, and passion in elevating Uganda's name on the global cricket stage. He expressed his admiration for the team's resilience, stating, "As Uganda's ambassador in Namibia, I had the opportunity to witness most of the Cricket Cranes' games. I applaud the players' dedication to representing our nation under challenging conditions. These players embraced the sweat on their brows as a badge of honoUr, recognising that each run scored and wicket taken is a triumph over adversity."

Uganda's journey to securing a spot in the T20 World Cup included a crucial victory against Rwanda in the qualifiers. The upcoming 2024 T20 World Cup set to take place in the West Indies and the USA next year will feature only 20 teams.

The Cricket Cranes' remarkable performance in Namibia has resulted in a rise in the Global T20 rankings, moving from 23rd to 22nd place.

The entire nation now eagerly anticipates the Cricket Cranes' participation in the prestigious tournament, as they continue to make history and inspire cricket enthusiasts across Uganda and beyond.
