Article 6 of the Paris Agreement and the Carbon Market in Uganda

Uganda has been active in international climate agreements, signing the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in 1992, ratifying the Kyoto Protocol in 2002, and the Paris Agreement in 2016. The Paris Agreement, adopted after COP21 in 2015, aims to limit global warming and encourages countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Article 6 of the Agreement emphasizes carbon trading as a mechanism for mitigating climate change.
