Studios and record labels, from Motown in the US to VIP Records in Jamaica, will put together the clout of their artistes for an album. Swangz Avenue has picked a leaf, and recently unveiled the Swangz All-Star album. This venture brings together the crème of the label’s most revered artists.
The news was shared across all Swangz Avenue social media platforms, accompanied by a mesmerizing video introducing the stellar line-up of Vinka, Azawi, Winnie Nwagi, the soulful Elijah Kitaka, Zafarani and Joy Good.
Swangz Avenue co-founder Benon Mugumbya called for an extraordinary challenge.
“The artistes are called to set aside their individual pursuits and embark on a week-long musical journey in Zanzibar to craft a full-length album. This project marks the first time these artists will collaborate on a single piece of art,” Benon says.
He adds that the collaborative album will also have other musicians that are not signed onto Swangz Avenue.
"This album will create immense exposure for everyone involved, especially for Ugandan music. Music is a powerful passion point for Ugandans, and this project will undoubtedly resonate with a wide audience," says Swangz Avenue CEO Julius Kyazze.
The highly-anticipated Swangz All-Star Album is set to make its grand debut in October this year.
