WAKISO - Church of Uganda's Second Provincial Prayer Convention is underway at the Uganda Martyrs Anglican Site, Namugongo in Wakiso district.
Under the theme, “Conforming to the truth of God’s word, not the patterns of the world” (Romans 12:1-2), the meeting started Wednesday, November 20.
The first day of the convention was dedicated to the youth, featuring sessions led by different speakers, including Rev. Simon Peter Ddembe Lya Yesu, Rev. Emmanuel Koboi, Rev. Bannet Ariho, and Rev. Grace Kavuma.
A release from COU media office states that the main focus is empowering the next generation with key messages that address their role in shaping the future.

Topics for the Wednesday youth session included: Next Generation Preservation, Remember God in Your Days of Youth and Unmasking the Spirit of the World.
The day also featured discussions on Strengthening Our Wavering Faith and Subjecting Uganda to the uncreated God.
Praise and worship, gospel music ministries, and intercessory prayers featured in all the sessions.

The Archbishop of Church of Uganda, The Most Rev. Dr. Stephen Samuel Kaziimba Mugalu, is expected to officially open the convention today on Thursday, November 21.
COU sources revealed that Sylvia Nagginda, The Nnabagereka (Queen) of Buganda Kingdom will attend the opening as a Special Guest.
In a media address on October 30, 2024, at the Provincial Secretariat in Namirembe, Archbishop Kaziimba said that the convention is an opportunity for the Church, nation, and families to come together for prayer, spiritual renewal, mediation, transformation, and revival.
The Second Provincial Prayer Convention running from 20th to 23rd November 2024 is organized by the Directorate of Mission and Outreach with support from ministry partners.
