Ugandan young rapper Patrick Ssenyonjo, popularly known as Fresh Kid, is preparing to sit for his Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE), and Ugandans on social media platforms are rallying in support.

For many, this moment will show the value of the time, effort, and faith that supporters have invested in the young rapper’s education and future.

Fresh Kid burst onto the music scene with remarkable talent, capturing the attention and admiration of Ugandans nationwide. While fans were thrilled by his unique style, a number of Ugandans felt it would be wise for him to prioritise school before fully pursuing his music career.

Among those advocating for his education was Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi, who strongly pushed for the young artist to attend school.

Fortunately, with debates surrounding his education and career, Fresh Kid was awarded a scholarship by Kampala Parents School, owned by prominent businessman Sudhir Ruparelia.

Now in Primary Seven, Fresh Kid is ready to sit for his PLE, with Ugandans extending well wishes for his success.

During a recent meeting attended by Fresh Kid, his father, and the school principal, Nakiwala presented him with a success card, reminding him of the strong support from herself and the government.

She encouraged him to remain grateful for his father’s support, saying, “Patrick, wherever you go, always remember your father. Many fathers are not like that; yours is a little different, and don’t take it for granted. I have a card here to let you know that Uganda, the children, and people like you are watching.”

The young rapper expressed gratitude to Nakiwala, his school principal Kato Dauphine, who he said treated him like her own child, and his father. Fresh Kid also shared his confidence in performing well in the forthcoming exams.

Meanwhile, Ugandans on X (formerly Twitter) have shown their support, with messages such as Masomarungi’s, who wrote, “Another reason why education is good! Special thanks to our supporters. We love you; we will always strive to make you proud.” Another user, Whrightar, added, “Since day one, he has been a very intelligent kid.” Mohammed Lubega chimed in, saying, “This kid is amazing. I hope he stays in school and that Honourable Nakiwala continues supporting him. Success, Fresh Kid!”

Ugandans continue to voice their encouragement and recognise the efforts that have gone into securing his education, celebrating Fresh Kid’s journey as he balances both his studies and his budding music career.
