Sometimes, companies are best known for their signature products. At the mere mention of a product and the public quickly links it to the company. For that reason, the Homes and Construction Expo at Millenium Park, Lugogo has come in handy to create new product awareness for the exhibitors.

“We have got clients who did not know that we are located in Ntinda Industrial Area and that we have products like plastic doors, which cost sh220, 000,” said Charles Wandera of Gentex Enterprise Limited. He explained that plastic doors are good for the whole house.

“They are good for the whole house because they are water-resistant and ant-proof because ants don’t eat plastic. Additionally, all door locks can be fitted on them. However, they were made for the interior, especially bathrooms because they are waterproof. Plus, they are affordable,” Wandera says.

The plastic doors actually look like wooden doors because they are brown and have a thickness of one and a half inches. Wandera says owing to that thickness, the doors can keep the sound out of a room just like a wooden door would. “It keeps out the noise when you shut the door,” Wandera says.

Exhibitors, who are eager to sell, advise and generally engage with visitors at their stalls, have pulled all the stops with their product displays. One such exhibitor is Roma Granite & Marbles Ltd, which exports marble slabs from Bahrain. Jagtar Singh, the factory manager of Roma Granite & Marbles Ltd, explains what sets their marble apart from others in the market.

“We have good material; it is first class material,” he states. While pointing at a marble slab, Singh says, “This is so beautiful and it has a warranty. Even after 50 years, it won’t change colour; it’s natural.” Singh says they can also fix the slab for the buyer, but at an extra fee.

Expo gains

Singh, like other exhibitors, is happy that people visiting the stalls are interested in their products.  “We have got exposure, which is good for marketing and we have got clients,” says Singh. “We have good material; it is first class material,” he states, adding that their slab is 20mm thick.
