Jose Chameleone rushed to hospital

MASSACHUSETTS - Jose Chameleone (Joseph Mayanja) reportedly collapsed and was rushed to a Massachusetts hospital on the morning of Tuesday, February 18, 2025.

The singer has been receiving treatment in the US since late last year.

Earlier today, his caretaker, Juliet Zawedde, took to her social media platforms to share that Chameleone is struggling for his life, and he is unwell.

"My bestie is not feeling well today. He has been taken to the hospital. I pray for you, my dear friend Chameleone. I know you are currently unwell. May the Lord grant you a healing touch, restore your health and strength, comfort you in your pain, and give you the courage to face this challenge. May you know that you are loved and supported during this time," she posted.

His father, Gerald Mayanja, has clarified that he was informed of Chameleone’s state early Tuesday morning.

“The woman (Julie Zawedde), who is now my son’s caretaker called and informed me that Chameleone had been rushed to hospital after he had collapsed,” said Gerald Mayanja.

He adds that Zawedde informed him that Chameleone would soon undergo two operations, one for a lung infection and another on the pancreas.

“Chameleone was supposed to undergo surgery earlier, but it was delayed because doctors needed to conduct tests to ensure his body could support the procedure. They examined his heart, blood pressure, eyes, and blood type before proceeding, as per protocol.

Despite being under treatment and monitored from home, his condition worsened. He broke down, prompting an emergency call for an ambulance, which rushed him to the hospital. He needs all our prayers,” said the father.

Efforts to get a comment from his younger brother Weasel (Douglas Mayaja) were futile.
