Shakib sets conditions for marriage with Zari

Father turns up for their daughter’s birthday, and Shakib Lutaaya, Zari’s new husband is upset. After much talk of “What do you bring to the table”, Shakib has put down his foot.

He has set conditions for staying in the marriage.

“If Zari had been supporting me financially, I would not talk about our issues in public. I work hard for a living like any other man and receive no financial support from Zari, contrary to what people believe,” said Shakib, explaining why he deserves to be treated by his wife with more respect. 

The 31-year-old Shakib claims that the only money Zari has ever given him is sh7.5m (USD 2,000), which he says is not enough to support him for all the time they have been together.

Shakib’s argument is that if he is paying his own bills, then Zari should behave like a traditional wife. Short of that, he is threatening to end the affair. 

“I will only reconsider if she meets certain conditions. She must take care of me as a wife; wash my clothes, cook for me, and respect me. She should be willing to settle down with me and build a life together,” says Shakib.

“I am ready to move on if this is not possible. I will leave the rest to God and only return if I see that we are truly committed to each other. For now, I will focus on my own life and well-being”, Shakib added.

Zari Hassan and Shakib Lutaaya got married in a private wedding ceremony in October 2023.
