For the very first time, the vibrant colors of Uganda will come alive in the heart of London at the inaugural edition of the ‘Uganda Festival UK 2025,’ also known as The Big Weekender.

Organised by Joseph Kiggundu under his Jobs Link Group, the two-day festival is scheduled for the 5th and 6th of July 2025.

Speaking to the press about this groundbreaking initiative, Vision Group’s Kenneth Oduka promised an event filled with the rhythmic beats of traditional drums and the sweet aroma of roasted plantains.

"People from all walks of life will have a chance to gather to celebrate the rich culture and heritage of the Pearl of Africa," he said.

Joseph Kiggundu, the event organizer, added that dancers adorned in colorful costumes will move gracefully to the rhythm of the music, showcasing the unique cultural dances from different regions of Uganda.

Abeeka Band, along with a lineup of other top Ugandan performers, is expected to mesmerize the crowd with their energy and passion.

As the sun begins to set, the festival grounds will transform into a lively marketplace, where vendors from Uganda and the diaspora will showcase their crafts, clothing, and artwork. Food stalls will offer a wide variety of Ugandan delicacies, from savory stews to sweet treats, at a festival designed to celebrate Ugandan culture and reinforce the strong bonds that connect the Ugandan community in London.
