"Display the power of humility and humbleness no matter who you are, which position you are in, or what you do because God tells us to humble ourselves and be humane in the communities we serve," Rev. Ddembe said.

Rev. Simon Peter Ddembe lya Yesu, the provincial director of missions under the Church of Uganda, has called upon Christians to express humility in their communities.

Ddembe made the call while preaching during the second Christmas service at Christ Cathedral Bugembe on Wednesday in Jinja City.

The Busoga Diocese, led by the Bishop of Busoga, Rt Rev. Dr Paul Samson Naimanhye, organised three Christmas services.

"Display the power of humility and humbleness no matter who you are, which position you are in, or what you do because God tells us to humble ourselves and be humane in the communities we serve," Rev. Ddembe said.

After delivering his message, Rev. Ddembe led the Christians in praise and worship during the second service.

Bishop Naimanhye urged parents to caution their children against unnecessary movements during this festive season to avoid becoming victims of various criminals.

Despite the morning drizzle in Jinja city, Christians braved it and attended Christmas services at various churches in the city.

During the service, the family of Mr and Mrs Syuha gave a testimony before the congregation about how God saved him from an accident and for 10 years in marriage.

"I got an accident while riding on a boda boda motorcycle on March 7, 2024, and broke my right leg, but it's God that has healed me and enabled me to pay for the expensive treatment—I was taken to Case Hospital for surgery," Peter Syuha said.

Christ Cathedral's Praise and Worship Choir led the Christians in song and praise.

Present were Bishop Emeritus, Rt Rev. Michael Kyomya, Rev. Canon Joyce Isabirye, Jinja Resident City Commissioner, Richard Gulume, former Butembe MP Daudi Migereko, and Samuel Kakungulu, among others.

In his speech, Jinja RCC, Gulume, revealed before the Bishop that they had not yet registered any reports of murder or theft on Christmas Day.

He said the government is putting more effort into increasing household incomes and therefore urged Christians to embrace government programs like GROW and PDM.

Gulume praised Migereko for his humility and humbleness and called upon Christians to emulate him.
