KAMPALA - The Namirembe Diocese Mission secretary, Rev Samuel Muwonge, has called upon Christians to turn up in big numbers for the Namirembe Diocesan annual convention slated for Sunday (September 18) at the cathedral Gardens.
Rev Muwonge said that gates will be open at 7 am amidst worship songs and praise from different choirs.
"At 8:30 am, the assistant Bishop for Kampala Diocese, Hannington Mutebi will preach to the community and at exactly 10am, Busoga diocese bishop Paul Naimanhye will be the next speaker," he added.
Namirembe diocese bishop Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira will preach at 12pm and at 2pm, he will commission the Mission House building situated at Namirembe Hill.
Muwonge during a press conference today at Namirember in Kampala dded that there will be a football match at 4pm between the reverend and fathers union team and after a netball match between the mothers union team and clergies' wives.
"Security is tightened, we hope there will be no criminality because security agencies are already in place. We have secured enough parking for those who will come with their vehicles," he added.
This is the first convention organised by the diocese after the reopening of the churches due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
