Emmanuel Anyama continued his rich vein of form for KCCA FC, scoring twice to earn his side a 2-2 draw against Uganda Premier League defending champions SC Villa on Wednesday at Mutesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The former Kaaro Karungi striker opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, but SC Villa responded swiftly. Thirteen minutes later, former KCCA forward Charles Lwanga equalized with a composed finish.

Just before halftime, Villa took the lead when Reagan Mpande confidently converted a penalty after KCCA defender Peter Magambo was penalized for a handball inside the box.

KCCA returned from the break with renewed urgency, and it paid off in the 55th minute. Anyama met a pinpoint cross from substitute João Gabriel with a powerful header to level the match at 2-2.

The brace added to Anyama’s recent impressive showing, having scored twice in KCCA’s 3-0 Uganda Cup semi-final first-leg win over Kataka at Lugogo just days earlier.

Both sides pressed for a late winner, but the deadlock remained, with the points ultimately shared.

The result leaves SC Villa in eighth place with 39 points, while KCCA hold onto fifth with 41. Both teams have played 27 matches.
