Stanbic Black Pirates Rugby Club and Aquafina have announced a comprehensive year-long partnership focused on talent identification, maternal healthcare, and environmental protection.
The collaboration, unveiled on Wednesday at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere, also designates Aquafina as the club’s official hydration partner.
Grace Namutebi, Aquafina’s Brand Manager, expressed enthusiasm about the alliance, stating, "We are excited to partner with Uganda’s leading rugby club. As a brand committed to youth empowerment, we aim to nurture talent while driving meaningful social and environmental impact."
She elaborated that the partnership would support the club’s development programs, maternal healthcare initiatives, and plastic waste collection drives to promote sustainability.
As part of the agreement, Aquafina will provide 11,520 litres of water annually to ensure proper hydration for all four of the Pirates’ teams, including their Academy side, during training and matches. This support comes at a critical time, as the club faces heightened demands during intense competitions.
Club captain Isaac Massanganzira welcomed the partnership, noting, "Securing a hydration partner like Aquafina is invaluable. Their support arrives when we need it most and will save the club over UGX 45 million annually."
Beyond hydration, the partnership includes provisions for team merchandise, training shirts, and enhanced social media and marketing support—further strengthening the club’s operational capacity and public engagement.
The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to sports development, community welfare, and environmental sustainability, marking a significant milestone for both organizations.
