Emilly Lekuru will lead the charge as the Black Pearls host Mbale-based She Wolves on February 22, 2025, at Kings Park Arena in Bweyogerere, Wakiso District.

Lekuru, currently topping the try-scoring chart with 23 tries—18 ahead of She Wolves’ Habiba Namalembe (7 tries)—will aim to extend her lead at the top of the scoreboard.

The seven-team league features Thunderbirds, Panthers, Ewes from Makerere, Nile Rapids from Jinja, and She Wolves from Mbale.

The Black Pearls and Thunderbirds are tied at the top with 20 points each, but Thunderbirds edge ahead due to a better points difference. Meanwhile, She Wolves, sitting fifth on the log, will look to upset the defending champions.

Despite having a game in hand, Black Pearls coach Hellen Buteme has warned her team against complacency. “We cannot afford to be complacent. She Wolves are a determined side and capable of causing an upset. We will not underestimate them,” Buteme emphasized.

The Black Pearls may be without key players, including Grace Auma and Suzan Auma, who are currently with the national team preparing for the opening round of the HSBC Challenger Series in Cape Town.

In other matches, Nile Rapids will face Thunderbirds at Dam Waters Ground in Jinja, while Avengers host Ewes in Entebbe.
