Five Ugandan professionals out of 11 will partake of the sh184m kitty after they made the cut after 36 holes of action in the Rwanda Open at the Kigali Golf Resort and Villas course.
Leading the charge for Uganda is Ronald Rugumayo who after the opening two rounds has shot four-under 140 and is only four strokes and one stroke behind Rwandan Celestin Nsazuwera and Zimbabwean, Promise Sembreiro, who are in first and second place.
Rugumayo had a perfect round, hitting five birdies, with his card only soiled by a single bogey on the par-4 hole-16 to ensure he moved from fifth after the opening round to third, and within striking distance of the championship.

The other Ugandans who made it to the money bracket include Rodell Gaita who is tied seventh with Kenyan Njoroge Kibugu and Abraham Ainamani who is eight strokes off the leader.
David Kamulindwa and Vincent Byamukama who carded 149 and 152 after the first two rounds will also participate in the cash bonanza which will be shared out to the 30 players that beat the cut which was set at 8-over 152 after the opening two rounds.
In the amateur category for the elite players Joseph Cwinyaai is also still in the top five after rounds of 74 and 75, eight strokes away from the leader, Kenyan Michael Karanga.
