Uganda v Côte d’Ivoire 7pm

Uganda's Lady Rugby Cranes 15s will battle Côte d'Ivoire on Tuesday in their second match of the Africa Rugby Women's Division I Championship in San Pedro, seeking back-to-back wins after their opening victory against Tunisia.

Coach Charles Onen acknowledged the challenge ahead: "The hosts will have home crowd advantage, but we'll stick to our game plan for positive results." While pleased with their efficient first-half scoring against Tunisia, Onen emphasized the need to reduce penalties and maintain discipline.

The tournament offers Uganda a chance at promotion to the Rugby Africa Women's Cup, with only the champions joining South Africa, Kenya and Madagascar in the top tier. The Lady Cranes were relegated after finishing third in the 2023 competition.

With Tunisia facing Zimbabwe earlier on matchday, Uganda can use those results as added motivation. The recently assembled squad aims not just for promotion but to prove their growing competitiveness in African rugby.
