Scrap Buyers have to account for themselves well when they take on Rox Berry in the Nile Special National Pool League this Sunday.

They have already lost one match and sit third on the table, two points behind Roxberry(13) and level on points with Upper Volta(11) but they are behind on goal difference.

Team Captain Wasswa Kayiya hopes that this week the team does not fall back to the errors that cost them against Adi’s Pool Club on matchday two.

“Even on that day, we lost to Adi's I do not think we could have surpassed that performance from them. They were very good and they had already given Upper Volta problems the week before. Upper Volta defeated them by 11-9 goals but before that they had fallen to 6-1 in the first half. We didn’t have the determination to come out of that problem like Upper Volta did,” stated Kayiya.

He has promised to focus on their performance as a team. They have to put behind them such failures and allow themselves to do well in the presence of a good side like Roxberry who are unbeaten.

“We look at the league as a marathon. When we take on Roxberry we hope to win but even if we lose it is not the end of the world. We shall just look at that as a learning experience and move on,” he said.

The two sides are pretty similar in terms of man power with Roxberry employing the impressive Ibra Ssejjemba who is on a roll winning 14 out of 16 of the frames of pool he has played this year. He is the top scorer and plays in the company of Azali Lukomwa, Kasozi Joseph, Jonathan Ouma and Arnold Ssemukwano. They can handle any team in the league but Scrap Buyers are also not your average side.

Simon ‘Computer’ Lubulwa is their top scorer accompanied by Habib Ssebuguzi, Glorious Ssenyonjo, Ibra Kayanja and Alfred Blacksheep Gumisiriza among others.

Kayiya commented, “We cannot afford to come on match day and force things we are not comfortable with. We need to focus on our strengths and do what we are capable of and use it to get three points.”
