Gerald Olipa opened his account in the 2025 UCA top flight with an unbeaten 50 as the Tornado Bees quashed the Wanderers by nine wickets at Serenity Group CG.
Olipa is fresh from captaining Uganda at the Africa U19 World Cup Qualifiers in Nigeria, where he did not get as much joy as he found against the Wanderers on Sunday.
Olipa scored his total off 54 balls, a steady and perhaps slow scoring rate but one that was never going to endanger the outcome.
With the Wanderers bowled out for 120, the Bees basically had a clear path to victory.
Jonathan Ssebanja had finished with three maiden overs during an inspired bowling spell that also also produced two wickets for the Bees and a man-of-match award.
Aziz Tandla took 3/9 for the Tornado Bees in 4.3 overs and Munir Ismail added 2/36 in seven overs.
Anas Baig scored 42 off 24, while veteran Nicholas Kebba added 17 off 21 for the Bees.
Wanderers were led by Raheel Sarwal with 27 runs, Abdul Habib with 20 and Jaffer Ochaya with 19.
