The Uganda Cranes have made it to Marrakech, Morocco, for two friendly matches against Cameroon and The Gambia. The team arrived on Wednesday morning after flying out of Entebbe on Monday night with Qatar Airways.
They’re set to take on the strong Cameroonian team on Friday, June 6, at 10:00 PM, followed by a match against The Gambia on Monday, June 9, at 6:00 PM. Both games are part of the team's preparation for upcoming continental and international competitions.
Coach Paul Put had put together a 28-man squad for the matches, but there was a last-minute change. Swedish-based forward John Paul Dembe had to pull out, and Muhammad Shaban from Al-Anwar FC in Libya will step in for him.
The squad features a mix of players, with eight of them based abroad, including Jordan Obita, Elio Capradossi, Steven Mukwala, and Bobosi Byaruhanga, who will meet the team directly in Marrakech.
