Uganda’s teams set for CAF African Schools Football Championship in Ghana

Uganda’s boys and girls teams will compete in the 3rd edition of the CAF African Schools Football Championship, scheduled for April 21-26, 2025, in Accra, Ghana. The tournament will be held at the University of Ghana’s Legon Sports Stadium.

This marks the first time the continental finals will be hosted in West Africa, following previous editions in Southern Africa (South Africa 2023) and East Africa (Tanzania 2024).

Representing Uganda, St. Noa Girls Secondary School, Zana, will compete in the girls’ category, while St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School, Kitende, will feature in the boys’ category.

The winners of each category will receive 300,000,with runners−up earning300,000,with runners−up earning200,000 and third place $150,000.

Launched by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe in 2022, the championship has become Africa’s largest youth sports event, attracting over 1.9 million participants from 46 countries.

This year’s competition will feature winners from six CAF zones and teams from the previous season’s finals, joining Ghana as hosts.
