The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has concluded the inspection of facilities at schools bidding to host the 2025 USSSA competitions.

The inspection, which took place from Thursday to Sunday, was conducted by teams from the USSSA executive and the Ministry of Education and Sports' Physical Education and Sports department.

The aim was to assess the schools' capabilities in terms of playing fields and accommodation facilities.

USSSA's First Vice President, Twahil Kitezala, led the team that inspected St. Mary’s College Rushoroza in Kabale, St. Joseph of Nazareth in Mpigi, and Standard High Zzana Ndejje campus. These schools submitted bids to host the USSSA elite games and the boys’ football competition.

Meanwhile, the Second Vice President, Okot P’Bitek, headed another team that inspected Jinja SS, Jinja College, Jinja Progressive, PMM Girls, Bukedea Comprehensive School, Ngora High School, Seroma Christian High School, St. Peters College, and Tororo Girls. These schools are competing to host various events, including ball games I, ball games II, boys' football, and swimming.

Following the inspections, the schools will be invited to make an open presentation of their bids to the USSSA executive, where the final decision on the 2025 USSSA competition hosts will be made.

The USSSA competitions include the USSSA elite games, which kick off the annual calendar, boys' football, ball games I (featuring girls' football, hockey, basketball, racket games, and rugby 15s), ball games II (which includes netball, volleyball, handball, rugby 7s, and athletics), swimming, and the newly introduced ball games III for non-FEASSA qualifying disciplines.
