KAMPALA - Blankets & Wine Kampala, the premier music and cultural festival, made its triumphant return on Sunday at Lugogo Grounds, marking its second edition this year.

The event, known for celebrating alternative music, culinary arts and family, offered an unforgettable experience for festival-goers, despite some challenges.

Kicking off at midday, the festival set the tone with vibrant DJ mixes and a dedicated play area for children, making it a family-friendly affair.

The diverse lineup of performances featured acts like Joshua Baraka, Blue 3, Etania, AO Walker, Em That Guy, Andereya Baguma, Karun, and the AKA Dope Band.

Each artist brought their unique style to the stage, but it was Joshua Baraka who stole the spotlight.

Backed by the Aka Dope Band, his powerful vocals and captivating songs drew the crowd closer, with fans enthusiastically singing along to his hits.

The headlining act, Blue 3, delivered an electrifying show, starting with solo performances.

Lilian Mbabazi kicked things off with her mesmerizing voice, followed by Jackie Chandiru’s energetic set that drew fans to the front.

Cindy, accompanied by her dancers, wowed the crowd with a cool, dynamic performance.

After a short break, the trio reunited on stage for a mega performance of their classic hits.

A surprise appearance by Navio, performing their hit song "Burn" together, added to the excitement of the evening. Blu 3 was backed by Band Cindy throughout.

Beyond the music, attendees enjoyed a wide range of activities and food options. With one stage dedicated to house and amapiano DJs, and the other for live music, the festival kept everyone entertained.

The return of the family zone ensured that families had a fantastic time, with kids' activities and dedicated minders.

The fashion at the event was as impressive as the performances, with a lot of cellulite on display.

The relocation to Lugogo Grounds offered more space for the music, art, and food stalls, elevating the overall experience.

However, the festival wasn’t without its challenges. The new venue was dusty, meaning that many did not carry blankets and mats. With restrictions on bringing drinks from outside, there were only a handful of wine bottles going round.

Additionally, a light drizzle in the late evening caused some disruptions to performances.

In a unique twist, like in the previous edition, the festival had no MC. Pre-recorded announcements and ads were played throughout the event, ensuring a seamless flow of activities.
