KAMPALA - Angellah Angel Nakibuuka, a renowned actress and presenter of the popular entertainment show Muziki Ku Luguddo on Bukedde TV, is set to captivate audiences with her latest theatrical production.
Passionate about empowering the girl child, Angel dedicates her time off-screen to educating young girls about menstrual hygiene and teaching them how to make their own sanitary wear, particularly in rural areas where access to sanitary pads is limited and often prohibitively expensive.
In her free time, Angel indulges in self-love activities such as swimming and fashion.
This Friday, she will be showcasing her play “Sanctuary of Pain” at Bat Valley Theatre in Kampala, at 7pm.
The play is about greed and power. Kisakye wants to lead her fellow women to fight the greedy Sabalombe, who has enslaved them for years in search of a mythical stone that gives eternal power.
"I wrote this play based on a true story, and it speaks about how society perceives the girl child and the struggles girls go through while growing up,” says Angel. "People should expect something educative, entertaining, and a story to remember," she asserts.
Angel's career took off during the COVID-19 pandemic when a skit she did about the virus went viral. (Courtesy Photo)
