Blu 3 express readiness for reunion concert this June

Famous singing group Blu 3 shocked Ugandans after news of their split in 2008 spread. They had emerged winners from the Coca-Cola Rated Next competitions in 2004.

The split saw the three musicians - Lillian Mbabazi, Jackie Chandiru and Cindy Sanyu - pursue solo careers.

It seems like it was Cindy Sanyu who went on to be the more successsful of the Blue 3 girls ever since they parted ways, with soldout concerts to her name.

After years of separation, the Blue 3s have decided to rejoin and come up with a concert dubbed The Legends of Sound that will take place on June 22, 2024 at Sheraton Hotel Kampala.

Speaking during the press conference at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel on Tuesday, June 11, the women promised their fans a massive and electric performance that will be unforgettable, returning them to the old golden days.

Cindy said the reunion concept takes her back to the days when she had just joined the group as a teenager.

“When I joined Blue3, I was only 18 years of age from Mbale and I had no experience when I moved to Kampala city and it was the gils (Mbabazi and Jackie) that took me through the city,” she said.

Cindy also assured the fans that the concert would be successful since they had done the rehearsals recently at Sky's Hotel.

She insisted that good music still matters and people want to listen to it as a response to a question by an attendee who had argued that it's immoral songs that are trending.

Lillian said having such a concert is a dream come true since she has been pushing for it ever since and she can now rejoice finally.

“I once posted on my socials and asked fans what they think about the Blu 3 reunion concert and the response was overwhelming as everyone loved the idea," she said.

Lillian urged fans to expect surprise performances from them since they have all grown in different ways in terms of vocals.

Jackie Chandiru
Jackie didn’t have much to say, but she elaborated on rumours that were going on back then about the split, saying that they were all not true. She said the three women decided to part ways so that they could discover their abilities.
