Chosen Becky takes mum to Zanzibar for birthday party

Chosen Becky (Rebecca Kukiriza), whose past as a rural Masaka girl, was fodder for tabloid press, will always shove her achievements to the world.

The most recent is when she flew her mother, Grace Nasibwa, to Zanzibar to celebrate her 50th birthday.

She flew the mother, along with her aunties, to Kiwengwa Beach for the party. She says it all cost her sh30m.

“I have spent a lot of time travelling with my father to different countries. This is the first time I am giving the same treat to my mother because she had never made time due to her commitments,” says Chosen Becky. Referring to her mother as “my God on earth”, she says she is worth more than any amount of money she can spend.

The mother did not take the gesture for granted. “I pray to God to give my daughter a lot of money because she has a good heart and doesn’t keep it to herself,” she said. 

“I have no regrets about the hardships I went through raising her; she is an exceptional child,” she added.

“She lied to us that she was going to perform in Zanzibar, so she wanted us to guide her. The party was a surprise,” says the mother. 

“I experienced things I had only watched in movies – like train trips and a boat cruise. I boat cruises is like being in a car, but softer and smoother,” she narrated.
