The legendary DJ Shiru, the major feature on Bukedde TV’s evening drive show, is set again for the annual "Mega Shirumatic Experience".
It is slated to take place on Sunday, August 25, at Climax Hub in Makindye, Kampala.
While addressing journalists at a press conference at Climax Hub, Bashir Kiberu (for that is his real name) noted that this year’s show setup is going to be greater than the ones before.
“The unique thing about this year’s Mega Shirumatic Experience is, my style while mixing the music is far different from the previous ones. We are also going to have competitions for DJS who are starting their careers and the winners will be gifted with laptops, hard drives and fridges,” he said.
Artistes lined up for the show are representative of Shiru’s repertoire of music. Throughout his career, he has not been a genre-specific DJ. Nina Roz and Ffeffe Busi are some of those who will perform. In the mix, he has also thrown in VJ Junior, for humour’s sake.
Additionally, Nina Roz thanked Shiru for being a genuine person who has uplifted many Ugandan musicians by promoting local talents.
“Unlike some other DJs, he plays our music without asking for a single penny,” she said.
“We are like brothers, and I’m proud of you because you are inspiring. I am calling all people to come and support Shiru during his show," said VJ Junior.
Gates open by 12:00pm. Entry fee is sh20,000 ordinary, sh50,000 VIP and tables are going for sh1m.
