Suuna Ben applauds DJ Shiru for transforming Uganda’s DJ industry

KAMPALA - Celebrated DJ Suuna Ben has given his colleague, DJ Shiru his flowers.

He recently sang the praises of Shiru, commending him for his selfless support in helping fellow DJs rise in the highly competitive music industry.

DJ Shiru, a trailblazer in Uganda's entertainment scene, has played a pivotal role in opening doors for younger colleagues by setting new standards and trends, particularly through his collaborations with artistes.

 DJ Shiru's influence has been felt far and wide, with many DJs publicly acknowledging his efforts in providing them opportunities to perform on big stages.

His support has earned him immense respect among his peers, and Suuna Ben is no exception.

The Ebinyanya star expressed heartfelt gratitude towards DJ Shiru, highlighting how his dedication has elevated the status of DJs and earned them respect in the music industry.

In a recent interview with Bukedde TV1 on Omuntu Wabantu, Suuna Ben shared how DJ Shiru helped him secure a performance in Qatar earlier this year.

He revealed that it was DJ Shiru’s recommendation that led to his booking, emphasizing that such a gesture could only come from someone with genuine goodwill. 

“We should thank DJ Shiru so much because he is a very powerful man,” Suuna Ben said. 

“We may face backlash as DJs right now, but no one has taken as much heat as DJ Shiru did back when DJs were disrespected.”

Suuna Ben also praised Shiru for breaking long-held stereotypes about DJs being unprofessional or disorganized. He noted how Shiru’s polished image and serious approach to the profession have changed public perception. 

“When people look at him, they can tell that a DJs can be serious. He turned this job into a serious business where you can make money,” Suuna Ben added.
