Music Review – Interview – Ffefe Bussi and Evelyn M!C
KAMPALA - It’s been a while since the industry showcased something that screamed ‘creativity’.
If you really want to enjoy this track, you need to watch its video. It's brilliant, and that is putting it simply. The chemistry between Busi and Evelyn is palpable.
The editing is sleek, and releasing the song with a video immediately was smart, especially with the way the video is neatly edited and put together.
The video also helps you put a face to Evelyn M!C, who really knows how to work the camera. She’s a natural – surprised she hasn’t done this before. Evelyn is an event MC, the kind that goes all in when she gets her hands on the microphone, and she brings that commitment to this track.
She does it like she has been doing it all her life. It also helps that hers is a face the camera loves, and she is wearing thigh-high boots. She wears them well, if I may add.
The concept behind the song’s video is as a representation of a news interview. It is also the song’s title. It is executed sleekly. Frank Mukiza is the government name for Ffefe Bussi and he has never been shy about blowing his own horn.
Considering how he delivers his lines on this track, he really should toot that horn. What makes the whole thing even more impressive is that he discusses several concerns about the music industry including drug use, and the issue of ‘beef’ between artistes.

Hip Hop is going through something of a slump at the moment, so this is a refreshing offering to be listening to.
Ffefe throws in additional details about what is going on in his life, and that chemistry I mentioned comes to the fore – this really looks and sounds like an interview.
You probably haven’t heard the phrase ‘Lugaflow’ in a while. I think this track easily makes it to the Lugaflow Hall of Fame, seeing as he preforms most of it in Luganda, interspersed neatly with some English, which helps keep the formal side of things ticking in this ‘interview’.
This is a clever production, an insanely creative musical effort. Hats off, Ffefe. And seriously, Evelyn M!C, you really caught us off - guard with that cameo.
