Following his announcement in May of a concert at Hotel Africana in Kampala on August 9, many assumed raspy-voiced Weasel would bring on board another artiste who has smooth vocals like Radio. King Saha is one of such artistes.

Weasel, the remaining member of the GoodLyfe Crew, has vowed not to find a replacement for his singing partner, Mowzey Radio (Moses Ssekibogo Nakitinje), who died in February 2018.

Weasel, real name Douglas Mayanja, emphasised that that there will never be a music duo like theirs.

Radio and Weasel last performed together in 2017 as they celebrated their 10-year music journey. They had to hits such as Bread and Butter, Talk and Talk and Nakudata.

Following his announcement in May of a concert at Hotel Africana in Kampala on August 9, many assumed raspy-voiced Weasel would bring on board another artiste who has smooth vocals like Radio. King Saha is one of such artistes.

"I am going to be a solo artiste for the rest of my life," he vowed. "The late Mowezy Radio was my favourite artiste and he never be replaced. I will never heal from the loss."

Weasel made the assurance during a press conference at St Lawrence University on June 14, where he was given sh10m to prepare for the show, which has been organised by Nobat Events.

He went on and explained why he has been off music for some time.

Weasel said ever since Radio passed on, critics have bashed him (Weasel), alleging that it was only his late partner who knew how to sing.

He explained that he sank into depression since Radio' s demise and that's the reason why he took a break from doing music.

Among the people who accompanied Weasel to the presser were his wife Sandra Teta, as well as his brothers Jose Chameleone and Pallaso.

Weasel expressed gratitude to the people who helped him during his healing process, mentioning Pallaso, Chameleone, producer David Ebangit aka Washington and also Nobat Events,  who he said believed in his ability to make a comeback.

Weasel also talked about fellow musicians who have started using Radio's voice to feature in their songs, for example Masavu, which was sang by Azawi.

"Good and original music speaks for itself. That's why artistes are now using artificial intelligence to includiing the late's voice in their music, but it's  not good," he said.
