UBL to reward customers with prizes worth sh1b

KAMPALA - Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) has launched a nationwide campaign in which it will reward over 400 loyal consumers with cash prizes.

The campaign dubbed “Laga Swagga” which is loosely translated as ‘Show off your style’ started in July and will go on up to September. 

During the campaign, consumers of UBL products will be rewarded cash prizes on a daily and weekly basis. 

Prizes worth sh1b will be worn throughout this campaign in a televised draw. The biggest cash prize up for grabs by an individual is sh50m. 

To participate, consumers are required to purchase any of UBL products of either Uganda Waragi Premium, Coconut, Lemon and Ginger, Bond 7, Gilbeys or V&A. 
Check a special code under the cap and submit it via SMS to 6688.

While launching the campaign on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Silver Springs Hotel in Bugoloobi, Robert Nsibirwa, the Marketing Manager Spirits at Uganda Breweries, said they are dedicated to giving back to their loyal customers as a way of thanking them for the unwavering support. 

“As a customer-centric business, activities like these represent our dedication to fostering meaningful connections with our consumers across Uganda. Through "Laga Swagga", we will give back to our consumers who have shown support to our brands. This campaign is also aligned with our purpose to celebrate life, every day, everywhere”, said Nsibirwa.

Nsibirwa added that the Laga Swagga campaign is positioned to reconnect with consumers throughout the country whilst benefiting the various players in the UBL value chain, thereby contributing to the socio-economic growth in the country.

He assured the customers that the campaign will run with a high level of professionalism and that they will keep integrity.

During the campaign launch, three individuals won themselves cash prizes worth 1.5m.
Comedians Madrat and Chiko who were MCs of the evening provided light moments with jokes surrounding various UBL products.

The comedians were also tasked with making cocktails to find out which of them could come up with the best. Chiko won. 

Nsibirwa encouraged people to drink responsibly.
