Last Sunday, social media platforms were awash with a video clip in which singer Lil Pazo was seen being pelted with plastic bottles at a show in Saudi Arabia. We have since learnt that the reason he was pelted with bottles by the audience was because of delayed performances.

On the night, there were two artistes scheduled to perform, Lil Pazo and Kenyan Willy Paul. According to sources who attended the show, the people who booed and pelted Pazo with bottles were fans of Willy Paul, mainly Kenyans living in Saudi Arabia. They were anguished with the delayed start of the show, and as soon as Pazo came on the stage, they started booing him off so their own Willy Paul would perform immediately. it is alleged that although the gates opened at 7pm, Lil Pazo started performing after 2am.

When Pazo obliged and left the stage, on came Willy Paul. in a sudden turn of events, Paul was also pelted with bottles, allegedly from the Ugandans. In what was deemed as an eye-for-an-eye moment, the show was abandoned as both sets of fans would not allow anyone of the singers to perform. It had turned into a fight between fans from the two East African countries.

As a result, another show was organised on Monday, with both artistes. However, it was not marred with chaos as the organisers ensured that performances were on time as promised.

Following the debacle, the promoter, called Lala, organised other shows for the artistes. Willy Paul also went to his social media handles and condemned the violence.
