Singer Bruno K is an enigma in the music industry. He eats life with a big spoon yet he is barely on stage like his contemporaries.

He also releases proffessional video projects that do not come cheap.

For the average Ugandan musician, the more bookings and concerts, the more money. Not Bruno K, real name Bruno Kiggundu.

Since social media in-laws did not know Bruno’s actual source of income, they always speculated that his money is from sugar mummies, that the women give him free money and take care of his bills.

On Friday, May 23, during an interview on Bukedde TV’s Vibe Mix show, which airs Monday to Friday 3:00pm to 4:00pm, Bruno disclosed his source of money.

“My followers and fellow artistes always think I have a sugar mummy, which is wrong. I got an effective way of using social media to make crazy money. I have done a lot of projects from which I gained fame. I have invested enough time in my brand, where I won awards. I survive on endorsements, not shows. I do advertisements for corporate companies, which are well paying. I am a brand ambassador of many local companies and I am paid monthly. I invested a lot to push my  social media handles which are now making for me a lot of money today," Bruno K said.

He advised his fellow musicians to also use social media to make money.

"I am an influencer as well to many companies where I sell their products. Once you check my pages, you will find there are a lot of different advertisements," Bruno said.

He boasted that he is paid over sh50m every month from social media.

In 2020, when the world was hit by COVI-19, President Yoweri Museveni ordered for the total lockdown in Uganda. Concerts and events were all stopped, affecting musicians' sources of income. Musicians cried, complaining that they were dying from their houses due to lack of food.

They went on and did a joint song called Mzee Tute Tukole, with a message asking the President  to end the lockdown so that they could start working.

On September 14, 2020, singer Ziza Bafana and his team was arrested at Mutukula at the border of Uganda and Tanzania where he had gone to perform illegally.

In an interview with Bukedde TV’s Vibe Mix Bafana said his family was starving, which is why he had to go and perform.

He  said he had no any other source of income apart from the stage.
