Michael Mukula Jr bolstered his chances of winning the 2024 Africa Rally Championship 2 (ARC 2) by finishing Day 1 of the Rwanda Mountain Gorilla Rally in third place.
Navigated by Edward Kiyingi in a Subaru N14, Mukula finished behind ARC defending champion Karan Patel of Kenya, who is leading the rally, and Giancarlo Davite of Rwanda.
Other Ugandan participants in the rally include Jonas Kansiime, Yasin Nasser, Fred Kitaka, Sadat Negomba, and UMOSPOC's Joshua Muwanguzi.
This is the fourth round of the ARC. The first was the Pearl Rally, followed by the Zambia Rally, Burundi, and now Rwanda. The final rally will be the Equator Rally Kenya in December.
