Nemostars v CAS 4pm

Uganda's volleyball champions Nemostars will begin their Africa Club Championships campaign against Algeria's Club Arzew Sportif (CAS) on Sunday in Misrata, Libya.

The Ugandan side finds itself in a competitive Pool B alongside Kenya's General Service Unit (GSU), DR Congo's VC Goma Revolution (VGR), Morocco's Fath Union Sport (FUS), and Egyptian powerhouse Al Ahly.

The team's prospects have been strengthened by the inclusion of international star Daudi Okello and national team standout Mark Omara, bringing valuable experience and quality to the squad. Nemostars will be looking to improve on their previous continental performances—an eighth-place finish in 2021 and a sixth-place finish in 2019.

Having secured their spot by winning the 2024/2025 National Club Championship, Nemostars carry a proud legacy as six-time league champions and four-time national club champions. Now, they aim to raise Uganda's volleyball profile on the continental stage.

The team's participation was made possible through support from the Ugandan government via the National Council of Sports, as well as sponsors including Mr. Patrick Bitature, Simba Group of Companies, Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF), Multiple Industries, Dott Services, Reddy Tech Services, Zhonghai, Epsilon Uganda, Adere Safari Lodges-Kidepo, dedicated fans, volleyball enthusiasts, NEMO Club members, and management.
