Ugandan artiste Mansur Ssemanda — better known by his stage name King Saha — can now go ahead and hold his concert at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala after getting the green light from the Police.

The Police had initially thrown the spanner in the works by halting the concert, citing concerns over the structural integrity of the venue.

They had particularly said the pavilion posed a risk to public safety.

A meeting over the matter ensued, featuring the joint security team, event organizers, and venue managers.

After deliberations, it was finally agreed that the concert could proceed today (Friday) as originally scheduled.

“A joint security team, together with the event organizers and venue managers met at the Cricket Oval to re-evaluate how the event can safely proceed, adhering to the previously recommended safety measures,” Police said in a statement on Friday.

The Police, however, issued a warning that the pavilion will be strictly off-limits due to its compromised structural integrity, which poses a significant risk to revellers.

King Saha, who has been promoting the event for months, reassured fans that the concert would proceed as planned.

With the necessary security measures now firmly in place, his fans and well-wishers can eagerly look forward to enjoying the highly anticipated concert, reassured that their safety has been guaranteed.
