Nyege Nyege Festival organisers have revealed the artiste lineup for the carnival that kicks off this Thursday at Jinja Golf Course.

To lead the lineup of over 100 international artistes, Nigeria's iconic record label - Chocolate City, is set to send its artistes to Uganda for the four-day festival. These will include Afrobeat rising stars Major AJ, Tar1q, and Candy Bleakz.

Virtually speaking to the guests during the reveal party in Naguru, Kampala, Bleakz, expressed her excitement to finally be performing in Uganda after hearing about the country's lifestyle on social media.

The organisers also revealed that Major AJ will kick off the Nigerian showcase with his infectious Afrobeats and lyrical charm. Following him, Tar1q will captivate audiences with his introspective lyrics, embodying the evolution of Nigerian music. Capping off the showcase, Candy Bleakz will bring her fierce style and empowering lyrics, challenging norms and inspiring the crowd.

Derek Debru, the CEO of Nyege Nyege, added: "We have a lot more international acts, including a group from Japan, artistes from Norway, and South Africa, that are going to be spread across a total of eight stages.”

From the local scene, the lineup will feature 200 confirmed acts, among who is Elijah Kitaka, Pia Pounds, Recho Rey, Zex Bilangilangi, Kenneth Mugabi, and crown sensation - DJ Suuna Ben, alongside rising stars like Tai Dai, Mwami, Denesi, Aliddeki Brian and the innovative Professor Joewi, who will introduce audiences to the unique Black Wave genre.

If you have attended the festival before, then you know that it is always shaped by the different DJs. At Nyege Nyege, one doesn't have to be a household name in the DJ business; they just have to be good enough to thrill a crowd. The local DJ scene will feature DJs Ssese, Vans, Kampire, R3igndrops, Janja, Hibotep, Melvyn, Ali Breezy, VXFaisal and others.

The festival's energetic atmosphere is set to be amplified by MCs like Adele Kiele, Sheila Salta, and Jokwiz, among others.

"This year's Nyege Nyege Festival emphasizes themes of unity, resilience, and the progressive voices shaping Africa's creative landscape,” said Hillary Baguma, Uganda Breweries Brand Manager Mainstream Spirits.
