KAMPALA - Immediate past international president and chairperson of the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) Dr Patti Hill has officially kicked- off her four-day tour of Uganda.
Hill who touched down at Entebbe International Airport towards midday today (February 7, 2025), was welcomed by the Lions leadership in the country.

"Well, we have great expectations for our visit with the Lions here in Uganda, because the Lions here are expanding their service footprint. They are growing in membership, they are increasing their service, and we are co-ordinating on this trip with some of our global partners," she said.
"We are working together on the Eye Hospital, our children's cancer project, as well as the World Food Programme. So, we have great expectations for our meetings with the local Lions and our global partners," she said.


Lions district governor of Dist411B, Benon Katate receiving Hill said the Lions are doing great work in the country.
"I am here to receive my immediate past International President who is also Lions Club International Foundation chairperson and Israel here to look at our work. We are doing quite a lot of work in this country and she will commission like three to four projects," he said.
Her tour in Uganda will run from February 7 -10, 2025.


About Hill
Hill, a member of the Edmonton Host Lions Club since 1990, has held many offices within the association, including district chairperson for membership, environment, convention and international cooperation and understanding.
Additionally, she has served as a committee member for the US/Canada Lions Leadership Forum, multinational coordinator for Campaign SightFirst II, secretary for the Lions Eyebank (Alberta) Society, Vice President of the Lions Eye Research Institute of Northern Alberta and presenter at many forums and conventions.


Hill is a founding member of the Lions of Canada Consultative Committee.
In recognition of her service to the association, Hill has received numerous awards, including several International President's Awards.
She has been honoured with the Ambassador of Goodwill Award, the highest honour the association bestows upon its members.


Hill is also a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow, and recipient of numerous other fellowships.
In addition to her Lions activities, Past Hill is active in numerous professional, human rights, and community organizations.
In the past, she served as an executive officer of the Alberta Association of School Psychologists and the Association of Canadian Educators of the Hearing Impaired. Past International President Hill has also served on the Alberta Premier's Council on Persons with Disabilities.
