NIC v Prisons 2pm
It will be a repeat of the 2019 East Africa Club Netball Championships after the two teams turned on the style to dismiss their opponents in the semi-finals played on Friday at the Kamwokya Sports grounds.
NIC showed quite a bit of mettle to unsettle Tamiseni in the semi-finals as they won their encounter 47-37.
The first quarter was a challenge for both teams and in any case, Vincent Kiwanuka was still not compelled to bring in centre Maggie Bagala and goal defender Joan Nampungu giving the other players a run in the position.
NIC can be proud of the good job they have done especially in regards to breaking down the complicated style of the Tanzanians. It took a while but NIC was finally able to secure the match and they will take on KCCA.
KCCA deny Prisons
It was another nail-biter as KCCA came from behind in the fourth quarter to snatch a 44-43 victory over Prisons in a well contested final.
It was a game that was tailor made for a team with mettle, and at the end of the day, KCCA’s shooter Shadia Nassanga held her nerve to give KCCA the lead.
KCCA will now face NIC for the third time this year, but Mugerwa fancies his chances in this particular encounter.
“We shall play the way we have played and maybe improve on it and try to beat them. I know they are scared of us, so we are going to come all out and see to it that we win,” Mugerwa said.
Mugerwa believes they missed opportunities with three draws against NIC so, the pressure is on to win the championship.
NIC is the defending champion, and they too will be looking to retain their trophy
